Joy.
Joy wrapped in faith, covered in love. The love of two women, the love of a cousin. The love of Him and the Father’s sacrifice.
Across the hills of Judah Mary came to Elizabeth.
The joy felt in a womb, a cousin’s love, stretched across time. John, a miracle himself, given the honor of knowing first. Knowing what? Knowing all.
His life’s work to be eclipsed, a star much brighter. One baptizes with water, one with Fire.
Elizabeth, her own heart full. The young girl before her, pregnant herself.
Oh Mary, a journey made to care for another. Blessed are you amongst women. Blessed is the fruit of your womb.
Blessed are you among all.
All of this, all of what we have, all of what awaits us one day, simply because you said yes.
John, selfless John.
Elizabeth, selfless Elizabeth.
Sinless Mary.
Oh come, oh come Immanuel.
